Jim Scarchilli is a Police Officer with the Town of Whitestown NY, where he has proudly protected and served the residents of his community for over 18 years.
Jim is also an accomplished businessman. In 2019, he became the Owner/Operator of Nothing Bundt Cakes in Consumer Square in New Hartford, and also has been the Owner/Operator of Glassy Business Window Tinting in Central NY for over 3 decades.
So why is Jim running for Sheriff of Oneida County?
Jim is running because he feels our Constitutional Rights are not being protected, he does not agree with the enforcement of unlawful mandates. He plans to address the departmental issues of low employee morale, staffing and retention. Officers are leaving for the wrong reasons, reasons that can be solved. People feel overlooked in promotions. They are leaving for better opportunities in other counties. People are even leaving for less pay to avoid stress within the current administration.
With Jim's background in Law Enforcement and Business he will address these issues to ensure the safety of his staff and of Oneida County. He has a hands on management style and knows what it takes to build and lead a productive team. He has a passion to win and strives for the highest standards of excellence. All while being humble, responsive, and trustworthy.
Jim is a lifelong resident of Oneida County, born and raised in East Utica. After graduating from Proctor High School, Jim attended SUNY Morrisville, graduating in 1990 with a degree in Business Management.
Jim has resided in the Whitesboro area for 28 years with his wife and high school sweetheart Dina, their sons James and Anthony, and their dog Dallas.
Jim supports and participates in many local events including his favorite "Shop with a Cop" and has given safety presentations to the Whitestown Cub Scout Packs and to the students at his local Elementary Schools.
